Accompanied by Rolex Guarantee dated 21 July 1999 made out by Bucherer, Geneva, booklet, original presentation box and outer packaging.
The particularity of the present watch is its unusual dial layout, featuring applied luminous Arabic numerals, commonly reserved for the Daytona models cased in gold, as opposed to the baton numerals on the stainless steel models.
It is thought that in 1999, Rolex placed an order for 10 prototype dials with their supplier Singer, destined to be used for the nouveau Daytona models in white gold and with leather bracelets. Five examples of each black and white dials with such applied Arabic numerals were made, the white versions were used on white gold models.
The black dials however never went above the experimental stage and were fitted on five stainless steel reference 16520 Daytona models, amongst them the present watch.
