(12 inch) brass dial with foliate C-scroll spandrels, silvered chapter ring and centre with engraved seconds ring and signature R.LEAR PINHEY/PLYMo. DOCK. above date aperture, blued steel hour hand (minute hand lacking), painted rolling moon above and inscribed HIGH WATER AT PLYMo. DOCK, the later eight day four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell
