Edo period (18th century)
The first a mokko shakudo nanako-ji plate designed with the twelve animals of the Zodiac, the rim decorated with chrysanthemums, all in iroe taka-zogan; the second an iron sukashi lobed tsuba carved with blossoming plum trees, gold highlights and chrysanthemums and scrolling vines inlaid in gold hira-zogan on the rim; the third an iron sukashi tsuba carved in the round with grape vines and leaves and tendrils of coiled wire attached to the plate, leaves highlighted with gold nunome and silver and copper dew drops
