Specialist note

Several self-portaits by Ghezzi are known, including one executed in 1702 and now in the Sunny Crawford von Bülow Collection at the Pierpont Morgan Library (B. Hainley, Fantasy and Reality, exhib. cat., New York, Pierpont Morgan Library, 1995, p. 23, no. 31). This drawing shows the artist at the age of 48 when he was at the height of his career.
