A MID-VICTORIAN PROVINCIAL WALNUT CIRCULAR LIBRARY TABLE
THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
The crossbanded top above four open shelves, on a panelled support and square sloping plinth lined in cork, on a moulded base, the underside inscribed in white paint '18/5', stamped '22400/4482/1'

Specialist note

The numbers stamped on the underside of the library table are similar to those found on furniture supplied by Mack, Williams & Gibton, the firm of leading Dublin cabinet-makers of the early 19th Century. Gillingtons, also of Abbey Street, Dublin, used a similar four-digit stamp.
