A LATE 19TH CENTURY RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT & CLOISONNE ENAMEL BRATINA ,
MARK OF PAVEL OVCHINNIKOV, MOSCOW, 1881,
Raised on four wire-covered ball feet, border of turquoise tongue motifs, sides with flowers in purple, black, bright green, dark green, white & 3 shades of blue, with the occasional red bead, base centred by a large flower-head in blue, red & white encircled by a turquoise bead border, the interior with similar central cloisonné flower-head, the sides of the interior painted en plein with flowers & foliage in blues, greens, pinks & white on a pale pink ground, the inner rim with band of turquoise tongue motifs matching that on exterior, silver-gilt ropework rim, 4½ in. diameter (11.4 cm.).
