How to sell

A VICTORIAN SILVER TOBACCO JAR & COVER,
MARK OF WILLIAM HENRY JACKSON, LONDON, 1885,
Drum-shaped in the 18th century Dutch manner, applied with laurel swags tied with tasselled cords, the spreading base & domed top of cover both fluted, the latter capped by a carousing man seated on a barrel, in the manner of Teniers, the ring side handles issuing from grotesque masks, a leaf band around rim, the sides inscribed with a poem Tobacco is an Indian weed
Grows green at morn cut down at eve
It shows our decay man's life man's life is but clay
Think of this when you're smoking Tobacco

The pipe that is so lily white
In which so many take delight
Is broke with a touch, man's life is but such
Think of this when you're smoking Tobacco

The smoke that does so high ascend
It shows man's life must have an end
When the vapour is gone, man's life is done
Think of this when you're smoking Tobacco

The ashes which are left behind
They serve to put us all in mind
That unto dust return we must
Think of this when you're smoking Tobacco"
