The reeded top with a hinged covered stationary compartment above a frieze drawer flanked by reeded panels and with a beaded edge below on tapering, turned and reeded legs with brass castors

Specialist note

This form of table was popularised by Gillows, who included a sketch for a 'chamber writing-table' in their Estimate Sketch Book, dated 1810 (No. 344/144, p. 11, Westminster City Archives).
