Tasting note: First tasted in 1973, though characteristically dry, less austere than usual, doubtless due to the super-ripeness of the grapes. Similar observation in 1976 and in 1977, though pale for its age, bone dry and refined, I found it 'somehow a bit blunt', observing that 1964 and the Dom were not completely compatible. Not tasted again until very recently, a bottle disgorged in June 1998: still fairly pale; a lovely meaty, nutty, bottle-age bouquet; strange flavour, though good acidity, and a very dry finish.
