How to sell

A REGENCY MAHOGANY OCCASIONAL TABLE
ATTRIBUTED TO GILLOWS, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
The rounded rectangular top above a spreading turned shaft with acanthus-clad base, above a berried ring, on a fluted column with gadrooned base, on a concave-sided triangular pedestal with scrolled acanthus-clad feet
27½ in. (70.5 cm.) high; 21¼ in. (54 cm.) wide; 17¾ in. (45 cm.) deep

Specialist note

The fluted shaft and acathus-wrapped base of this table relates closely to a Gillows sketch for a pedestal table (Christie's archives). A similar rosewood pedestal table, though with waved gallery top, was sold anonymously, Christie's, London, 6 March 2003, lot 258. Another pedestal table, apparently identical to the latter, was sold by Lily and Edmond J. Safra, Sotheby's, New York, 3-4 November 2005, lot 521.
