Paul B. Dixon (British, 20th/21st Century)
Lot 220 PAUL B. DIXON

Paul Dixon was born in Scotland but grew up in St. Ives, Cornwall. As a child, he had a natural flair for drawing and spent many hours will pad and pencil in and around the Cornish countryside which is where he also developed a keen interest in natural history.

In 1981, Paul emigrated to South Africa where he experienced first-hand African wildlife in its natural habitat, sparking off a love affair with the African bush.Inspired by his initial encounters, he began trying to capture the atmosphere and light which is so unique to Africa.

During 2000, Paul was elected as a member of the Society of Animal Artists, New York and in 2002 he was elected a signature member of the Pastel Society of America.

He believes in living the experience and makes as many trips to the bush as possible, collecting reference material and rekindling the inspiration for new works.
