Erasmus Quellinus II (Antwerp 1607-1678)

We are grateful to Dr. Jean-Pierre de Bruyn for confirming the attribution on the basis of a photograph (written communication, 16 September 2007). He believes the painting to be an early of circa 1640. Comparable works are in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum, Bonn and the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten, Antwerp. Dr. de Bruyn will include this composition in his updated monograph on the artist to be published in 2009.
