Lot 194 PROPERTY SOLD TO BENEFIT CITY HARVEST
In the early 1980's, City Harvest began as a group of concerned citizens who were troubled by the large numbers of fellow New Yorkers struggling to find food on a daily basis. When they discovered that local restaurants were discarding good food, they responded by gathering volunteers to collect and dispense this food to needy New Yorkers in the five boroughs. Today, this simple yet smart organization has distributed more than 200 million pounds of food to a network of over 600 community programs and averages more than 57,000 pounds per day. Each week alone, City Harvest helps provide meals to more than 260,000 men, women and children and courageously battles to end hunger in New York City.
