with Martyn Gregory ('Tosswill was commissioned into the 99th Regiment on 17th. July 1861. He was promoted Lieutenant in 1864 and Captain in 1871. He disappears from the Army List in 1873. He served in China 1860/61 and was stationed in Hong Kong from 1861-1865').
