TAYLOR OF THE GREAT 1955 VINTAGE
Recently removed from professional storage and now lying in Weybridge, Surrey (EHD)
Taylor--Vintage 1955
Bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd. Embossed metal capsules and labelled. Levels into neck
Tasting Note: An opaque blockbuster when young, astringent and unready up until the early 1980s. In the early 1990s still fairly deep-coloured; a vast, deep, high-toned, spicy nose, fairly sweet, full-bodied, packed with fruit, extract and tannin and acidity. Then, in April 1993, served at a state banquet at Buckingham Palace in honour of the President of Portugal (impressive: occasion and wine)Last noted at a dinner in Los Angeles, Feb 1998 **** (Possibly I am being ungenerous, for it is far from fading) M.B.
6 bottles per lot
