Specialist note

Suzanne Bloch was an opera singer, whose brother was the reknowned Belgian violonist, Henri Bloch. Both were good friends of Picasso and they also occasionally bought and sold works by Picasso, particularly his early drawings executed at the beginning of his Parisian career.
