Oval and with a gadrooned rim, the conforming plain base with two part-turned wood handles and bun feet, each piece engraved twice with a coat-of-arms, marked underneath dish and on base

The arms are those of Trollope quartering others impaling Thorold, for Sir John Trollope 6th Bt. (1766-1820) and his wife Anne (d.1855), daughter of Henry Thorold of Cuxwold, co. Lincoln, whom he married in 1798. Their son Sir John Trollope, 7th Bt. (1800-1874) was created 1st Baron Kesteven of Casewick in 1868.
