Purchased by the Dowager Empress Maria Fedorovna of Russia on 28 July 1912 for 260 Roubles.

Specialist note

The necklace was a gift to Augusta Marie Utke Ramsing (1875-1959) who was lady-in-waiting to Princess Margrethe of Denmark, sister of the Tsarina of Russia, and thence by descent to the present owner
