ALBIN, Eleazar (fl. 1713-59). A Natural History of English Insects, London: William Innys, 1749. 4° (288 x 229mm). 100 hand-coloured engraved plates by Albin, H. Terasson, Hullet, and van Gucht after Albin. (Without W. Derham's Notes as usual, very light offsetting, plates with occasional unobtrusive light soiling, a few spots.) Contemporary calf (covers detached, worn). Provenance: James Miller and Margaret Hoste (old signatures on front free endpaper and title respectively). Fifth edition, first published in 1720. Freeman 45: "Derham's notes, 26 pp, were published separately with a cancel title leaf"; Nissen ZBI 58 describes this edition as the third edition.
