The first carved as a tiger with her cub climbing playfully on her back, the distinctive patterns on the animals' coats rendered with finely incised lines, the eyes inlaid in horn; the second of a tiger seated with her paw resting protectively on the back of her cub, the mother lacquered gold with black stripes and the young tiger gold with golden-brown stripes
