sterling silver multiple, 1964, incised with signature and dated '64', numbered 17/100 (there were also editions of 100 cast in bronze and stainless steel, each with 12 artist's proofs), published by the International Collectors Society, New York, some surface soiling, otherwise in very good condition
diameter: 2 5/8 in. (67 mm.)

Specialist note

According to Arturo Schwarz, "the original lead drain was made for the bath in Duchamp's apartment in Cadaquès, Spain. Too light in weight to function well, it was replaced in 1965, when Duchamp had a heavier version cast of almost the same diameter but twice the thickness."
