Jacques Félix Jukel, according to an inscription 'Dessin représentant un port de mer auteur inconnu de la collection de gravures et dessins de Jukel, Jacques Félix peintre d'histoire, éleve de Louis David né à Grasse alpes maritimes en 1782' on a label attached to the backboard.

Specialist note

A colored version of this drawing was sold at Christie's London, 5 April 1995, lot 167. Both sheets are datable to after 1780, when Martin moved back to Sweden from England.
