Originally conceived as a custom commission for Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel — known as the Squire — the bag was later renamed Alma in 1992, after the Place de l’Alma in Paris. Since then, the Alma has been reinterpreted in various sizes — from the miniature Nano and BB to the spacious PM, MM and GM — in materials ranging from Monogram canvas to Epi leather. Elegant yet versatile, the bag remains a quintessential expression of Louis Vuitton’s Parisian sophistication.
