A recognized auctioneer at Christie’s salerooms in Geneva, Hong Kong, London and New York, Mr. Kadakia joined Christie’s—the international leader in the jewelry auction market—in 1996 when he was instrumental in establishing the first ever Important Indian Jewels auction, which included a Mughal inscribed spinel bead necklace sold for $1.4 million. He then moved to Geneva in 1997 and organized the Magnificent Jewels auctions there for the next seven years. In 2004, he was named head of the Jewelry Department for Christie’s Americas and annual auction sales have soared above $100 million in New York nearly every year since his appointment, and private sales generating many millions more.

He has been at the podium for a number of record breaking sales including the Ellen Barkin Collection, which showcased the most important collection of jewels by JAR ever to appear at auction in 2006; and the historic Baroda Pearls which realized a world auction record of $7.1 million in 2007 and changed the market for natural pearls. In 2009 he auctioned the Annenberg Diamond, a 32.01 carat rectangular-cut gem for $7.7 million, which set a record price per carat for any colorless diamond at auction at the time.

In 2011, he became a media sensation as co-auctioneer of the famed jewelry from the Collection of Elizabeth Taylor, which totaled $137.2 million over two days, outperforming its pre-sale estimate by four times. More records were achieved under his gavel in 2013 including the sale of the famed Princie Diamond which at $39.3m was the most valuable Golconda diamond ever sold at auction and the Orange diamond which achieved a world record $35.5m.

He was appointed International Head of Jewelry in April 2014 and on May 18, 2016 Christie’s Geneva sold the Oppenheimer Blue Diamond for $57.5m, a world auction record for any blue diamond.

Most recently in 2019, Mr. Kadakia orchestrated the unprecedented Maharajas & Mughal Magnificence global exhibition and sale. The marathon 12-hour auction achieved $109.3 million, the highest total for any auction of Indian Jewels and Mughal Jeweled Objects.

Claibourne Poindexter is an Vice President, Specialist in the New York jewelry department, having joined Christie's in 2015. Originally hailing from Greensboro, NC, Mr. Poindexter graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Brand Management and Marketing. Before joining Christie's, Claibourne was the head of product development for a prominent New York City based jewelry designer, as well as previously cataloguing in the jewelry department of a well-known North Carolina auction house. In his role at Christie’s, Claibourne has been actively involved in the consignment and sale of many important jewels and collections over the years including Property from the Blair Family Collection, Property from the Estate of Elizabeth Stafford, Important Jewels from the Estate of Mrs. Henry Ford II, and Property of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Sold to Benefit Future Acquisitions. Today, Mr. Poindexter currently works for Christie's in various aspects of business including playing a key role in obtaining consignments, maintaining important long term client relationships and providing valuations for jewelry in the America’s.

Jacqueline DiSante is Head of Sale for the Jewelry department, and oversees catalogue production and sale processes for all live and online auctions based out of New York. Additionally, Mrs. DiSante is involved in other various aspects of the business including consignments and sales, private sales, client development and valuations for jewelry in the U.S. She first joined Christie’s in 2010 as part of Client Services and in 2012 was welcomed by the Jewelry department as exhibition coordinator and assistant to two senior specialists. In 2015, she began cataloguing and has since contributed to landmark auctions including Maharajahs and Mughal Magnificence, the Private Collection of President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan, the Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller and the Magnificent Jewels of Anne Eisenhower. Mrs. DiSante graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor’s degree in Art History and earned a Graduate Gemology (G.G.) certificate from the Gemological Institute of America. She has successfully completed training in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice facilitated by a certified AQB instructor from the Appraisers Association of America. Since completing the USPAP training, Mrs. DiSante has attended the 7-hour USPAP update course every two years as recommended by the AAA.

Max Fawcett joined Christie’s in 2015 and today is heading the department and is responsible for valuations, client engagement/development and business getting for Geneva’s biannual Magnificent Jewels sales alongside our other international auctions.

A recognized auctioneer across sales in London, Geneva, Hong Kong and New York, he has held the gavel for many record breaking sales including Maharajas and Mughal Magnificence in 2019 which grossed $109.3 million dollars, the highest total for any auction of Indian art and Mughal jewelled objects.

Having started out in Munich as an apprentice to an antique jeweller, he soon moved to New York and from there to Geneva where he is based today.

Leo Criaco joined Christie’s Geneva in 2015 as a Senior Specialist. Originally from Italy, Leo moved to London in 2006, starting off as an apprentice at the prestigious jewellers Bentley & Skinner. With over seven years of experience in sales and client development, he later moved his focus to the trade before moving to Geneva and joining the auction world. A diamond graduate from the British Gemmological Association (D.G.A.), Leo plays a central role for Christie’s across all facets of the business including consignments, client development and valuations, with a specific focus on the Italian and Spanish market. In 2017 Leo pioneered the “Dolce Vita’ collection – a superbly curated collection of Italian jewellery, within the Geneva Magnificent Jewellery sale. The important results for this selection in 2021 translated into a yearly dedicated online auction in Milan, where Leo moved in 2022.

Angela Berden is Senior Specialist of Christie’s European Jewellery team. Raised in a third-generation dealership of antique furniture, Angela deviated from the family business to pursue a life-long passion in jewellery. After studies in goldsmithing, Angela was accepted for an internship at Christie’s Amsterdam in 2004. This led to a move to London where she pursued her gemmological qualifications.

Angela joined the Jewellery Department of Christie’s London in 2005 and soon worked her way up to a specialist position where she handled landmark auctions including the collection of H.R.H Princess Margaret and the historic 35.56ct blue Wittelsbach Diamond which sold for $24m. In 2011, Angela was transferred to Geneva to further her specialist career and also seconded to Paris in 2013 acting as Head of Department. Now based in Geneva, Angela has worked on numerous international projects including Jewels for Hope, a $38m distinguished charity auction. More recently in May 2019, she was involved in the notable sales of a magnificent Fabergé tiara which achieved CHF1.3m and a 118ct cushion-cut yellow diamond at CHF7.1m. A Dutch national, Angela travels extensively throughout Europe for business-getting and enjoys meeting private jewellery collectors. She is also fluent in English, German and French.

Based in Hong Kong, Vickie Sek is Deputy Chairman, Asia Pacific and Chairman, Jewellery, Asia Pacific, overseeing all aspects of Christie’s jewellery sales in the region. Vickie manages relationships with Asia’s top jewellery collectors and is responsible for their growing activity across Christie’s salerooms internationally.

Vickie joined Christie’s as a jewellery specialist in 1994. During her near 30-year tenure, sales of jewellery and jadeite in Hong Kong have grown exponentially and Christie’s have led the auction market for the category in Asia. She has been pivotal in the consignments of some of Asia’s most esteemed private collections, including that of legendary Hong Kong actress, Rosamund Kwan, which sold for US$11 million in 2022, as well as the collection of Theresa Po Lau, and the family collection of K’ung Hsiang-Hsi.

Under Vickie’s leadership, numerous exceptional and record-breaking results across outstanding diamonds and gemstones have been achieved in Christie’s Hong Kong saleroom. In 2023, ‘The Golden Flame’, an 8.92 carat diamond ring, achieved the world-record price per carat for a fancy vivid yellow-orange diamond at US$457,804 per carat. In 2021, the department achieved the world-record price at auction for the largest purple-pink flawless diamond, ‘The Sakura’, which realised US$29.3 million (US$1.85 million per carat). Also of note was the sale of an 8.01 carat fancy vivid blue diamond pendant necklace by Moussaieff sold for US$20.4 million (US$2.55 million per carat) in May 2018. In 2016, The Aurora Green, a fancy vivid green diamond ring of 5.03 carats achieved the world record per carat for a green diamond at US$3.34 million per carat and is the world-record holder for any green diamond ever auctioned.

A key contributor to Christie’s global results, Vickie’s expertise and understanding of jewellery is second to none. Vickie speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and is fluent in Japanese.

Now based in Hong Kong, Ms. Au-Yeung plays an integral role in Christie's Hong Kong jewellery sales and in the development of Christie’s clients throughout Asia. Ronny Hsu is Vice President, Specialist, Head of Sale of Jewellery at Christie's Hong Kong and is responsible for developing all Jewellery businesses in the region of Asia, as well as supporting global sales of Jewellery.

Prior to joining the department in 2019, Mr Hsu also worked at two other leading international auction houses. Since then, Mr Hsu has played an instrumental role in a series of high-profile important collections including the unparalleled jewellery collection of the late Mrs Heidi Horten (2023) with the sale series realising a total of US$202M / CHF 180M, achieving the highest total ever for a private jewellery collection.

Mei Giam is a Jewellery Specialist and Private Sales Director for the Jewellery Department based at Christie’s International Headquarters in London. She engages and advises Top Level clients across Asia and Europe to secure and sell important diamonds and precious jewels for Private Sale. Her responsibilities include conceiving strategies to support initiatives for UHNWI-client development, utilising her specialist knowledge of jewellery to perform this task. Mei has experience with purchases and valuations of rare gems and jewels and has personally handled high value transactions that have included blue, pink and orange diamonds.

Mei began her career at Christie’s in Hong Kong in 2007 where she acted as a jewellery auction specialist, advisor and point-of-contact for Asia's Private Clients in the jewellery auctions worldwide, developing a strong network of buyers and collectors throughout the region. She returned to Christie’s in London in 2014 and while she continues to strengthen her existing client relationships, she also oversees the London Jewellery Salon where she curates selling exhibitions offering clients a luxury retail experience within Christie’s.

Mei is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). She also holds a Masters Degree with Distinction in the History of Art from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. A Malaysian national, Mei is fluent in English, Indonesian and Cantonese.

Raymond Sancroft-Baker supervises Christie's jewelry sales in Amsterdam, Geneva, London, Paris and Rome. He began his career at Christie's in the Coins & Medals Department, where he conducted sales in the United States and in Europe. He took charge of the Jewelry department in London in 1988. Mr. Sancroft-Baker organized the sale of the historic 32-carat pink Agra diamond in 1990 that sold for a world auction record price of $6.9 million; the same auction saw the largest ever total for a London jewelry sale of $22 million, a record that stood for 18 years. He created the first theme auction in 1992 entirely devoted to jewelry, clocks and objects by Cartier. He has been instrumental in setting Christie's disclosure policy concerning treatments and artificial enhancements of jewelry to be sold. In December 2021 The “Paris Joaillerie” sale totaled €10,5 million surpassing any jewellery sale in France and setting a world record for an online sale in the sector.

Several world records were set during auction organized by Violaine such as an Art Deco necklace by Jean Fouquet fetching €980,000 or a ruby and diamond Zip necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels sold 819,000€.

Her areas of expertise include Art Deco jewellery and works by Suzanne Belperron and René Boivin. She is also a lecturer and regularly speaks at conferences about the History of jewellery.

Baoming Li joined Christie’s Jewellery Department as Associate Specialist in Spring 2022, after 5 years’ experience in French auction houses. Before, he earned luxury retail knowledge in different French high jewellery houses.

Baoming’s responsibility, in collaboration with European and international team, is to source high quality jewellery and develop an international collector network across the live and online sales.

Baoming holds a Master’s Degree in International Business and is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (FGA & DGA). With a cross-cultural background, he is fluent in English, French and Mandarin Chinese.

Jessica Koers joined Christie’s in 2000. As head of Christie’s Jewelry Department in Amsterdam Jessica travels throughout Europe to source collectors’ jewels and gemstones of high quality for sales in Geneva, London, New York and Paris. She was instrumental in the sale of many valuable pieces including a rare 5.50 cts fancy vivid pink diamond which sold in 2014 in New York for $9.573.000. She also curates collections for many clients in Europe. Jessica attended Leiden University, specializing in Renaissance Jewellery and completed a masterclass on precious stones at the London Gemmological Association. Jessica is fluent in Dutch, English and Italian and gives lectures in all three languages.

As General Manager, Thailand since January 2018, Prapavadee is responsible for all business and client development activities, working closely with the Hong Kong office to expand Christie’s footprint in Thailand. Prapavadee has a wealth of experience across industries including luxury, residential real estate development, and art institutions, which included representing the retail franchises of The Metropolitan Museum of Arts and Thai National Museum of Bangkok. Prior to this, Prapavadee spent the early part of her career at McKinsey & Company and Bain & Company. Under her stewardship, Christie’s brand presence in Thailand has deepened, with strong growth in client activity across both luxury and fine arts categories. She has also worked with key partners to build collecting mindsets, gave talks to various groups on passion investing, and supported several charities, particularly on art education.

Mafalda Chenu began her career at Christie’s Paris as a Junior Jewellery Specialist in 2015, after having graduated from Warwick University in Art History and from Dauphine University with a master’s degree in Management. She is a qualified gemmologist with a Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) certificate from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York. In 2020 Mafalda was appointed Specialist and now plays a key role in undertaking appraisals, research, client development and business-getting for our biannual Jewels auction in Paris as well as for other international sales. During her career at Christie’s, Mafalda has contributed to the sale of many valuable jewels and gemstones including a Cartier Art Deco “Tutti Frutti” bracelet, which sold for CHF1,110,000 in 2020, a 6.09-carat Kashmir sapphire, sold for a price per carat of US$80,000 in 2018, and an Art Nouveau brooch by Boucheron achieving €355,500 in 2018.

Agnese Fabbiani is a Cataloguer and Sale Coordinator in the Jewellery Department at Christie’s Italy, based in Milan. She started her auction career in 2017 as a graduate intern in the Valuation Department then moved to the Rome office where she covered various responsibilities such as coordinating and liaising with clients’ s consignments for National and International sales. Agnese graduated from The Catholic University of Milan with a Master degree in Economy and Art Management, holds a Bachelor in International Relations, and studied gemmology at the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and the Gem-A Foundation. She is fluent in speaking Italian, English, French and Portuguese. As a Cataloguer and Luxury Liaison , Agnese currently works for Christie’s Milan coordinating various aspects of the Italian sale ‘La Dolce Vita’ including cataloguing, following consignments and planning the exhibition of the sale. She also closely collaborates with Christie’s worldwide jewellery teams, especially with the Paris and Geneva offices.

Caroline Liang is Associate Vice President and Specialist of the Jewellery department at Christie’s Shanghai. In this role, she is responsible for selling, sourcing and organizing private sales in mainland China. With an established network, Caroline also advises Chinese collectors in Christie’s salerooms in Hong Kong, New York and Geneva, working closely with the team internationally to develop the jewellery market.

Caroline has been with Christie’s since 2013, and has more than 25 years of experience in the jewellery industry, including retail, wholesale and jewellery making. Alongside her specialist role, Caroline is one of Christie’s auctioneers and has been at the rostrum for major sales in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Caroline has a BA in Fine Art from York University and a Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) diploma from GIA. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Based in Hong Kong, Vickie Sek is Deputy Chairman, Asia Pacific and Chairman, Jewellery, Asia Pacific, overseeing all aspects of Christie’s jewellery sales in the region. Vickie manages relationships with Asia’s top jewellery collectors and is responsible for their growing activity across Christie’s salerooms internationally.

Vickie joined Christie’s as a jewellery specialist in 1994. During her near 30-year tenure, sales of jewellery and jadeite in Hong Kong have grown exponentially and Christie’s have led the auction market for the category in Asia. She has been pivotal in the consignments of some of Asia’s most esteemed private collections, including that of legendary Hong Kong actress, Rosamund Kwan, which sold for US$11 million in 2022, as well as the collection of Theresa Po Lau, and the family collection of K’ung Hsiang-Hsi.

Under Vickie’s leadership, numerous exceptional and record-breaking results across outstanding diamonds and gemstones have been achieved in Christie’s Hong Kong saleroom. In 2023, ‘The Golden Flame’, an 8.92 carat diamond ring, achieved the world-record price per carat for a fancy vivid yellow-orange diamond at US$457,804 per carat. In 2021, the department achieved the world-record price at auction for the largest purple-pink flawless diamond, ‘The Sakura’, which realised US$29.3 million (US$1.85 million per carat). Also of note was the sale of an 8.01 carat fancy vivid blue diamond pendant necklace by Moussaieff sold for US$20.4 million (US$2.55 million per carat) in May 2018. In 2016, The Aurora Green, a fancy vivid green diamond ring of 5.03 carats achieved the world record per carat for a green diamond at US$3.34 million per carat and is the world-record holder for any green diamond ever auctioned.

A key contributor to Christie’s global results, Vickie’s expertise and understanding of jewellery is second to none. Vickie speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and is fluent in Japanese.
