Bloch 583; Mourlot 141
Fernand Mourlot, whose Imprimerie printed and published the great majority of Picasso's lithographs, describes La Colombe in his catalogue raisonné in the following terms:
'The composition is one of the most beautiful lithos ever produced; the mellowness obtained in the plumage...is absolutely remarkable. This plate gets the maximum of what can be obtained with litho ink utilized in wash drawing.' (F. Mourlot, Picasso Lithographs, Paris, 1970, p. 123).
