專家說明

The first drawing in this lot may be a design for Simon de Vries's Omstandigh Vervolgh op Joh. Lodew. Gottfrieds Historische Kronyk: of algemeen historische Gedenkboeken, Leiden, 1700. It may represent the assassination of King Edward II of England who, according to some account today dismissed by most historians, had been killed by the insertion of a red-hot iron or poker into his anus.
