專家說明

A carver, gilder and frame maker, Thomas Ferrand (d. 1852) was the son of William Ferrand, a plane-maker in York, and was admitted freeman in 1809. Entering into partnership with Willian Dodgson in 1814, their union dissolved in 1816, Ferrand's trade label is recorded on a painted satinwood cabinet, decorated with garlands, arched panels of Classical landscapes, flowers and foliate scrolls (The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers, Leeds, 1986, p. 297).
