专家说明
The atelier of Henry Dasson is distinguished by the fine quality of its ormolu. Here Dasson takes inspiration from the celebrated Louis XVI maître Adam Weisweiler and his marchand-mercier, Dominique Daguerre, borrowing the ormolu corner columns, headed by basket bearing caryatids, from the famous table de dame made by Weisweiler for for Marie-Antoinette at the Château de Saint-Cloud. Another example of this vitrine, of rare trapezoid shape, is not known, but it can be compared to a pair of vitrines, of rectangular outshape, sold Christie’s, London, 28 February 1998, lot 156.
