Smith Jnr dated Dec 11, 1946 detailing his recent filming of the 1948 United Artists film Red River, he writes ...I am just finishing a Western starring John Wayne and it's been a fine business, all this - particularly 10 weeks on location in Arizona herding cattle all day. I am totally unused to civilization., the letter signed off Will I see you? Monty, with stamped envelope; accompanied by a film still of the subject [printed later] from the production -- 10x8in.
