专家说明

The campaign to free Greece from Ottoman rule involved a combined allied fleet of British, French and Russian warships. After the momentous victory at Navarino (20th October 1827), the Russian Squadron (which had not been drawn from the Black Sea) returned to its northern base in the Baltic but called into Plymouth en route to refit. It is presumed that this brief call provided the subject of the first work in this lot.
