Tiare, specie of the Gardenia flowering genus, is native to Tahiti, the largest island in the Windward group of French Polynesia located in the southern Pacific Ocean. The genus has a reputation for being difficult to grow because they originate in warm tropical areas but demand high humidity to thrive.

Comparable to the Tiare, the present watch is extremely difficult to execute, attesting to superb technical ingenuity and supreme know-how of the gem setter.
