DOMAINE JOSEPH DROUHIN
In 1880 Joseph Drouhin established his own négociant firm and acquired the old cellars of the Dukes of Burgundy at Collégiale Notre-Dame. His son, Maurice, began buying vineyards, staring with Beaune Clos des Mouches and he also had distribution rights for a portion of the Domaine de la Romanée Conti. Laurence Jobard consulted on the wine-making from 1973 until 2005 and many great vintages were produced under his careful watch. Great names in both the Côtes are produced by Drouhin; Chambertin and Clos de Bèze, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, Corton-Charlemagne and Bâtard-Montrachet.
