"Tasted regularly in the last three years, every time a great pleasure. In demi-john, a week before for this tasting. Believed to be transferred from cask to demi-john around 1900. Offered for sale at Christie's London December 2013. Very nice nose of vintage wax, leather and faint floral scent. After a while more aromas appeared, aniseed and fennel. Full rich taste. Beeswax, backward nose, dried fruits, nicely concentrated, sweet expression coming out, very complex. Makes you want to pick up your glass and go back. Double decanted 9 hours before a masterclass in NY. This was one of the greatest wines in a series of 18. Beautiful balance and length. Great wine! Last tasted December 2015." EV
