Each side painted in the manner of Watteau with a scene of gallants and companions or elegant figures seated in landscape, one end with Pierrot and a seated lady, with richly-gilt interior, the interior of the cover stippled with a shepherdess and her lover spied upon by a boy from behind an architectural monument, the gold mount chased with scrollwork (slight wear to gilding on interior)
