Specialist note

cf. F. Baudot, Gilbert Poillerat: maître ferronnier, Paris, 1992, p. 97 for another table of this model with a marble top.

The present table was designed in 1935 by Serge Roche for the living room of his house 'Les Cases' in Paris. Other versions of the table exist with a marble top or gilt-metal base. This table distinguishes itself through the exquisitely painted scagliola top.

Caption - The interior of the salon of 'Les Cases', the home of Serge Roche, circa 1937.
