Specialist note

The present watch is a fine example of the rare Rolex reference 6536/1 with beautifully defined beveled edges on the lugs. The dial, in great condition, has a very charasmatic feel and the case is extremly sharp with great proportions. The bracelet, original to the watch is also in very attractive condition.

Reference 6536/1 was launched in 1956, shortly after the introduction of the reference 6538. The most notable differences between the two Submariner models are the size of the crown and the triangle on the bezel, while the reference 6538 features a large screw down crown and red triangle, the reference 6536/1 features a smaller screw down crown and silvered triangle.
