Based on the Christian Dior model Chambord, with strapless bodice and full, tulle lined skirts, embroidered with imitation pearls, beads and sequins and encrusted with sprays of pearl coloured paillettes to the waist line
Labelled BERGDORF GOODMAN MADE TO ORDER in pink to white silk, with two other Bergdorf Goodman labels, the first inscribed Miss L. Hart, 12-12-58, Cathy and another Miss Linda Hart, 12-30-58

Specialist note

Christian Dior licensed his patterns to Berdorf Goodman in the United States, who then sourced fabrics and manufactured the garments locally, creating made to order couture pieces for the American market.

Dior's Chambord was shown as part of his fall/winter 1954-55 collection and was constructed of silk and silk tulle.
