CUNO AMIET (1868-1961)

Im Berner Emmental liess sich Cuno Amiet mit seiner Frau Anna Luder kurz nach der Heirat 1898 nieder. Dort wohnte das Paar auf der Oschwand. Um die wunderbare Hügellandschaft von Oschwand zu malen, wählte Cuno Amiet vorwiegend Grün- und Rosatöne. Aufgrund eines Etiketts auf dem Keilrahmen können wir davon ausgehen, dass das Werk Hügel bei Oschwand von 1900/02 in der Berliner Secession ausgestellt war, vermutlich im Jahr 1904.

Das Werk ist im Schweizerischen Institut für Kunstwissenschaft, Zürich, unter der Nr. 37'853 registriert.

Shortly after their marriage in 1898, Cuno Amiet and his wife, Anna Luder, moved to the Bernese Emmental. There the pair lived in Oschwand. In order to paint the marvellous hilly landscape of Oschwand, Cuno Amiet predominantly selected green and pink tones. From a label on the canvas stretcher frame, we can assume that the work, Hügel bei Oschwand from 1900/02, was exhibited in the Berlin Secession, probably in 1904.

The work is registered as no. 37'853 with the Swiss Institute for Art Research, Zurich.
