Note du spécialiste

The artist produced a series of bronze rolling over horses in 1978 and 1980: 'My watercolours and drawings, which I always do in series, are studies for my sculpture. In this way, I can get the feel of a new theme which I can then express in series of sculptures' (Exhibition catalogue, Elisabeth Frink Watercolours, Drawings and Sculpture, London, Maltzahn Gallery exhibition, 1974, p. 2).
