Christie’s roundel
Lot 119 It was a pair of Civil War binoculars that initiated Les Leverett's interest in photography. "Borrowing" these binoculars from his father, Les created a home made projector with which he projected self-drawn comic strips on his bedroom wall. After serving in the United States Army Les went on to The Texas College of Photographic Art in San Antonio, Texas. Les Leverett's photographs have been seen on hundreds of album covers, in many books, magazines, newspapers and videos. Some of the many accolades Les has received include a Grammy for best album cover, and Billboard Magazine's Best Country Cover.
