Lot 112 As a singer and guitarist, Alvis Edgar Owens Jr., celebrated 21 number one hit songs on the Billboard country music charts with his band, the Buckaroos. Owens established the Bakersfield sound, which referred to Bakersfield, CA, the city Owens called home and drew inspiration from in creating his sound, which he called American Music. In 1963 Owens had his first #1 hit song with Act Naturally, paving the way for a series of #1 hit songs over the next six years including Together Again, I've Got a Tiger By The Tail, Think of Me and Sam's Place. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Owens was also a staple on the hit television series, Hee Haw from 1969-1986.
