Sarah Lucas (née en 1962) est une artiste britannique dont la pratique provocante et irrévérencieuse occupe une place centrale dans l’art contemporain au Royaume-Uni depuis les années 1990. Née à Londres, Lucas a étudié au Working Men’s College puis à Goldsmiths, Université de Londres, où elle a rejoint la génération des Young British Artists qui remettait en question les conventions en matière de forme, de genre et de sujet. Ses premières expériences sur la scène artistique londonienne, aux côtés de pairs tels que Damien Hirst et Tracey Emin, ont façonné une pratique caractérisée par un humour provocateur, une inventivité matérielle et un engagement critique envers les normes sociales.
