The house’s iconic Monogram canvas was created in 1896 to prevent counterfeits, with this interlocking Louis Vuitton lettering now a common signature of their luggage.

Over the decades, luggage has remained central to the house’s designs — from the lightweight Louis Vuitton Keepall (1930) to the bucket-shaped Louis Vuitton Noé (1932). In 2024–2025, Christie’s auctioned the largest single-owner collection of Louis Vuitton trunks ever offered at auction, totalling €3.5 million.
